Wallace E. Franklin

MARCH 1913 TO JULY 1977 Commissioned as an officer on the New Liskard at Port Arthur on November 21, 1944. A brand new vessel, Wallace was in charge of heating and cooling. His was one of the vessels called the Corvettes which scoured the waters from Bermuda to the North Atlantic hunting for underwater mines. Wallace, your family is very proud of you and strive to live up to your example, "You are Remembered."

OCTOBER 1, 1922 TO OCTOBER 14, 1994 WWII Veteran 63315344 Served with the Polish Corps under General Anders. Travelling down western side of Caspian Sea through the mountains of Iraq and Iran to Palestine, then Alexandria and to Italy where the army was instrumental in the liberation of Monte Cassino. Wife, mother and grandmother. We will remember you.

D.F.C. & BARR FEBRUARY 26, 1920 TO OCTOBER 18, 2008 WWII Veteran Flight Instructor at No. 6 S.F.T.S. at Dunnville Airport. Operational Training Unit Bagatville, Quebec. 412 Squadron, Benny-Sur-Mer Normandy, Heech Holland. Flew last operational sortie of war for 126 Wing Landing 8 a.m. May 5, 1945. Hon. Col. of 412 Squadron. Historian and educator of youth.

George L. Passmore

63310662 George L. Passmore was born in Caistor on June 5th, 1929, and enlisted with his brother on October 1st, 1941. He went overseas in March, 1943, and crossed to France a week after "D" Day. He was serving in Belgium when he was killed. NIKODEM BORODYN October 11, 1914 June 29, 2008 WWII VETERAN 1st Polish armoured division under General Macek. Joined allied invasion of France in Normandy and victory at Falaise Gap. Fought along side allied forces through France, Belgium and Holland. Took active part in the Liberation of Holland. Gerald Neil

Gerald joined the Cameron Highlanders of Ottawa and in 1942 became a machine gunner in the 3rd Division, 7th Brigade "A" Company. He was at Juno Beach Invasion on June 6, 1944 at 6 A.M.andwaswounded twice, in France and in Italy. He supported the Winnipeg Rifles 7,8,9th Brigades.

Joshiah R. Pinnegar
